Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Special Assets Group (SAG) Officer. Description: A SAG Officer is a financial professional, specializing in the area of problem or distressed credits, whose ultimate focus is to mitigate risk, minimize credit losses by aggressively managing a diverse portfolio.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ Years combined commercial lending and work-out experience
  • Minimum 5+ Years commercial work-out experience
  • College Degree – Accounting and/or Finance or other applicable job experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft skills (word/excel, etc.)
  • May require travel and overnight stay in differing locals

Nice To Haves

  • Consumer work-out experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Actively manage a diverse portfolio of C&I and Commercial Real Estate loans including developing an action plan for each relationship, inclusive of timelines, resolution targets and alternative strategies.
  • Obtain timely approvals of all strategies consistent with the Bank’s credit policy and goals.
  • Maintain credit files and collect required financial data.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and current loan files for all assigned workout loans.
  • Monitor and administer all outside vendors (i.e attorneys, receivers, etc.) to ensure Bank is receiving adequate value for services received and managing legal actions.
  • Create, present and maintain all required internal and external reporting, including but not limited to Problem Asset Reports (PARs), credit approvals, and forecasts.
  • Monitor and manage internal reports regarding overdrafts, past due loan, matured/maturing loans and tickler report.
  • Devise and successfully negotiate timely resolutions for each asset under management that maximizes the Bank’s return commensurate with the underlying risk and at all times protecting the Bank’s reputation in the market place.
  • Obtain or perform routine appraisal, collateral, legal and field exam review analysis as part of the ordinary administration of the portfolio.
  • Develop and support risk ratings and impairment recommendations.
  • Provide advice, counsel and direction to management, as well as the commercial lending staff regarding the identification and evaluation of deteriorating credits in an effort to recognize problem loans early.
  • Calculate bid strategies for collateral foreclosures, including real and personal property; develop strategies to liquidate OREO and other foreclosed assets
  • Adhere to all credit policies and procedures
