About The Position

The Safety & Utility Locating Training Manager at Stake Center Locating is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for new technicians, ensuring they are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles. This position involves a combination of practical hands-on training and classroom instruction, focusing on safety and utility locating procedures. The manager will also oversee onboarding processes, maintain training records, and conduct safety audits, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the team.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One to three years' experience in a related field.
• Expert level locating ability.
• Ability to speak in public.
• Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office suite.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependable and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Implementing training program for new hires, including 75% practical hands-on training and 25% classroom training on locate theory.
• Assisting with onboarding new employees.
• Effectively communicating company policies and procedures.
• Providing computer training on ticket management system.
• Administering Operator Qualification on covered tasks, including study guides, tests, and documentation.
• Providing remedial training for locate field technicians after at-fault damage or failed audits.
• Maintaining all training records and creating training files for each technician.
• Tracking field safety audit results and assisting with incident and accident investigations.
• Conducting field safety audits and customer service quality audits monthly.
• Conducting utility damage investigations quarterly and interviews quarterly.
• Scheduling pre-employment drug tests quarterly and creating/distributing reports monthly.
• Ordering and distributing PPE monthly.
