Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Comply with all company rules, policies, and safety procedures. Support a culture of health and safety across the facility by working alongside supervisors and experienced safety professionals to help maintain a workplace free from serious hazards. Learn and stay informed on new safety regulations and assist with researching requirements and preparing initial recommendations for implementation. Serve as a support resource for basic OSHA questions and compliance activities. Assist supervisors with incident investigations, including documentation, root cause analysis, and follow‑up actions, with training and guidance provided. Support the administration of IFG’s post‑accident drug and alcohol testing requirements. Assist with coordinating new employee safety training and helping integrate new hires into the workforce. Help maintain and update division safety policies and procedures and assist with delivering training to supervisors, managers, and employees. Support maintenance of the chemical product inventory in the SDS management system in partnership with the Environmental Manager and assist with processing new chemical requests. Assist with updating safety programs and maintaining OSHA‑required documentation. Participate in the development and implementation of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) as part of on‑the‑job learning. Assist with organizing and supporting the department safety committee, including meeting coordination and documentation. Support the administration of Department of Labor and Idaho Forest Group apprenticeship programs, including Filer, Boiler and Kiln Operator, Heavy Duty Mechanic, and Industrial Maintenance Mechanic apprenticeships. Proctor apprenticeship tests and assist employees with scheduling additional classes or tutoring when needed. Assist with tracking apprentice progression, including hours and education requirements, and help update the RAPIDS system under guidance. Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to support development and execution of the annual maintenance training calendar. Assist with coordinating training by working with vendors to schedule on‑site and off‑site training opportunities. Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to help track and maintain safety and maintenance training records and assist with providing training status updates to supervisors, managers, and superintendents. Perform other duties as assigned to support learning and development within the role.
