About The Position

TRAINING & WORKFORCE COMPETENCY (ISO 9001 – CLAUSE 7.2 & 7.3) Develop, implement, and maintain a structured training program to ensure employee competence for assigned assembly and support roles. Coordinate new hire onboarding, including safety, quality policy, procedures, and work instruction training. Maintain and update training matrices aligned with job descriptions and competency requirements. Ensure training records are controlled and maintained as documented information per QMS requirements. Support supervisors in identifying skill gaps and cross-training opportunities to improve workforce flexibility. Verify training effectiveness through observation, audits, and performance metrics. Assist in development and revision of standard work instructions and visual job aids. Promote employee awareness of quality policy, quality objectives, individual contribution to product conformity, and the importance of meeting customer and regulatory requirements. SAFETY & RISK MANAGEMENT (ISO 9001 – CLAUSE 6.1) Administer facility safety programs in compliance with OSHA and company standards. Conduct required safety training including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication, PPE, Ergonomics, Machine Guarding, Emergency Response, and Powered Industrial Trucks (if applicable). Conduct routine safety audits and workplace inspections. Support job hazard analyses (JHAs) and ergonomic assessments for assembly workstations. Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis; ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified for effectiveness. Maintain OSHA logs and required safety documentation. Track leading and lagging safety indicators and communicate trends to leadership. Facilitate safety meetings and promote employee engagement in hazard identification and continuous improvement. QUALITY SYSTEM & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT (ISO 9001 – CLAUSE 10) Support internal audits related to training, competence, and operational controls. Assist in corrective and preventive action processes. Ensure training and safety processes are aligned with documented procedures. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality. Collaborate cross-functionally to support customer requirements and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing training, safety coordination, or quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of workforce competency development.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 principles including documented information, risk-based thinking, and corrective action.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation control abilities.
  • Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with LMS or training tracking systems preferred.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in light to medium assembly environments strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
  • ASP, CSP, or other safety certification
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification
