About The Position

Safety Technician at Marsden South Shift: Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 40 hours a week. Hourly Rate: $16 Location: Freeport, Texas Requirements: You must be 18 years old You must have work authorization You must pass multiple safety tests A pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check are required TWIC card and driver's license may be required in some of our positions Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, follow directions, and manage multiple tasks. Professional appearance with suitable safety and work attire, including required PPE. Job Duties: Maintain CSST (Construction Site Safety Technician) certification and apply safety standards in a chemical plant environment. Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments to identify chemical, physical, and operational risks. Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and chemical handling procedures. Assist in the development, preparation, and delivery of safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training programs, including chemical safety, PPE usage, and emergency response. Support incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective action implementation. Ensure proper use, storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals in accordance with safety and environmental regulations. Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, permits, and training records using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Promote a strong safety culture by engaging with employees, contractors, and supervisors. Respond to emergency situations such as chemical spills, exposures, or unsafe conditions and assist with evacuation or mitigation efforts. Work independently to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while following company and site-specific procedures. Drive a personal vehicle as required to perform job duties and site visits.
