About The Position

Safety Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of Health, Safety, and Security policies while complying with OSHA and EPA standards. The Safety Supervisor will also staff the Health Services office on 1st shift and provide care for our team members for occupational and personal injuries or illness within the authorized protocols.  The Safety Supervisor will take direction from the Safety Manager and directly supervises and directs the Health Services Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of Emergency Medical Technician - Basic license is required.  Paramedic, RN or LPN is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience including supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA and other applicable Federal and State legislations.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Basic First Aid Certification, CPR Certification and knowledge of Worker’s Compensation is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a team of resourceful and skilled team members.
  • Must be able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Must be able to problem solve.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Advanced computer skills including Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of timekeeping system.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
  • Coaching and performance management experience a plus.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills including root cause analysis.
  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test and background screen.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provide treatment to our team members when injuries occur.
  • Provide follow up care and monitor injured team members.
  • Complete medical records, tracking data and direct accident investigations.
  • Participate support to conduct drug testing for pre-employment/post offer, accident, and random screening processes.
  • Direct and schedule hearing tests.  Assist in JSA development and updating.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments.
  • Partner with the PSM Coordinator to coordinate the respiratory program and hazmat team needs.
  • Actively participate on the Hazmat team and confined space.
  • Maintain safety records as assigned and order inventory and distribute medical supplies.
  • Monitor daily activities to ensure a safe work environment, through training, audits, inspections, and enforcement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the area of safety.
  • Assist with Work Comp Case Management.
  • Maintain records for OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies and internal required records as directed by the Safety Manager.
  • Lead Health Services Team.
  • Lead internal teams, safety related activities and projects as directed by the Safety Manager.
  • Partner with Human Resources, management and team members to promote safety.
  • Perform internal administrative duties such as scheduling, training, and program management as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
