About The Position

The Safety Supervisor will provide safety leadership, continuous safety improvement efforts and will serve as a liaison between the plant and Corporate EHS.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience implementing safety programs.
  • Experience working with manufacturing processes and related equipment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Applications/Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work, Powerpoint).
  • Strong leadership, organization and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of standard health and safety reporting methods and metrics.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review, revise and implement safety programs to meet or exceed compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as GLC standards.
  • Lead the coordination of all safety initiatives and responses with guidance from Corporate EHS.
  • Oversee the administration of standardized health and safety programs that result in a safer workplace as evidenced by a reduction in safety incidents and injuries.
  • Maintain plant safety metrics, including Pause metrics.
  • Oversee and facilitate the plant incident management / investigation process, which includes root cause analysis and execution of corrective/preventive action plans.
  • Conduct monthly and routine safety inspections and lead corresponding corrective action plans.
  • Determine appropriate corrective or preventative measures, and ensure implementation.
  • Facilitate Safety Committee meetings, and maintain minutes.
  • Supervise plant safety personnel.
  • Management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and electronic SDS database for the plant.
  • Prepare standard health and safety related training materials.
  • Lead the coordination of annual hearing testing, evacuation drills, and other regulatory tasks as directed.
  • Accompany regulatory agencies on all routine audits, incident investigations, and/or employee complaint visits.
  • Assist in plant wastewater management practices and reporting.
  • Support a culture in which health and safety compliance is owned at the site level.
  • All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
  • All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
