About The Position

Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is seeking a passionate and experienced Safety Supervisor to join their team. This role is for their Families w/ Children facility located in the Longwood area of the Bronx. The Safety Supervisor will play a pivotal role in providing a safe and secured environment for the families in the facility and supervising dedicated Safety Aides. Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC, offering an array of onsite programs to help families thrive. The organization aims to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave their shelters.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Security or law enforcement experience.
Valid NYS Security Guard License.
Valid F-02 (Certificate of Fitness for Fire Guard for Shelters) is a must.
Valid F-80 (Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters) is a must.
Current 8-hour certificate.
16-hour certificate.

Nice To Haves

One-year supervisory experience.
CPR certificate.

Responsibilities

Supervise safety staff providing direction and instruction to staff on routine security tasks for assigned shift.
Maintain camera surveillance of the interior and exterior of the facility.
Enforce facility rules and regulations.
Investigate incidents or interactions.
Act as the Fire Safety Director and staffs the Fire Command Station.
Must be able to work on weekends and Holidays.
