About The Position

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military. As a Safety Specialists at SNC, you are responsible for a range of technical work across HSE disciplines, focusing on engaging stakeholders, reducing risk, and maintaining related assigned HSE programs. You'll be working individually and in teams to develop, implement, and address employee and stakeholder concerns. Your technical responsibilities will ensure program compliance to federal, state, and local HSE regulations and standards. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. Requirements

  • Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field of study and typically 0 - 2 or more years safety experience in aerospace, military, aviation, or general industry
  • Years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement
  • Knowledgeable with a variety of occupational health & safety standards, EPA, OSHA, and NFPA regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct a job hazard analysis, site audits, and incident root cause analysis
  • Fluency with data capture, data analytics, spreadsheets, and presentation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DCMA INST 8210
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Certifications, including Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST)
