This role will be responsible for maintaining and managing day-to-day health, safety, emergency response, environmental compliance, and security activities in support of terminal operations at the Trinity terminal and may at times provide support to other terminals as needed. Duties include, but are not limited to:The position calls for quick and efficient responses to EHS managers when called upon for assistance with minimal supervision.Technical support for handling health, safety, training and industrial hygiene issues for identified Bulk/Liquid facilities.Environmental compliance, compliance programs, procedures, and policies associated with federal, state, and local regulations and acts as a liaison with external legal and regulatory personnel and agencies.Provide expertise for local management regarding safety, health, environmental and security regulations, while taking action in promoting our safety culture (SQE) at every level of the organization. Provide expert compliance support for Kinder Morgan Terminal policies and proceduresPrepare/review and implement facility-specific EHS manuals, programs, procedures, and standards and assist with development and oversight of safety and environmental and emergency response training.Lead the safety teams at individual facilities and participate as required in the EHS assessment program.Prepare, coordinate and implement health and safety management, oversight, and strategic plans and procedures.Maintain communication with peers in the industry, regulatory agencies, and trade organizationsProvide internal consulting and support to sales, operations and management staff throughout Kinder Morgan Terminal for permitting and regulatory compliance.Coordinate health and safety audits and agency inspections.Conduct formal assessments of all EHS programs and security audits.Maintain all required EHS records; Permitting - research needs, identify conditions, prepare applications, manage compliance with permit conditions, resolve issues; Manage waste program; Regulatory inspection programs.Participate in Technical Working Groups; industry and trade association initiatives and work groups; implement compliance strategies as required.Coordinate the delivery and management of the terminals' on site contractor safety program.Federal / State / Local rule and regulation review, interpretation and implementation.Spend up to 80% of working hours in the field, observing operations, training, and assisting operations with auditing and inspections. May require operating various pieces of terminal equipment as needed to assist operation in mission success.This position is a strong link between operations and management staff which requires handling multiple projects and issues with short deadlines.Provide support and/or oversight to field operations on safe work practices and industrial hygiene programs.Facilitate "root cause" analysis of reported incidents, such as near misses, personal injury, DOT, or vehicle accidents.Provide health and safety support to regional, commercial, engineering, and maintenance projects.Other duties as assigned.
