About The Position

AGRILAND FS is looking for a Safety Specialist who would be responsible for advancing a strong safety culture through hands-on training, regulatory compliance, and proactive risk management. Partners with managers to identify site-specific hazards, implement practical safety programs, and ensure OSHA and regulatory requirements are met. Supports accident investigations, maintains accurate safety documentation, and drives continuous improvement through effective Safety Management System (SMS) implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, education, or other related field preferred and/ or 3-5 years of related experience
  • Ability to train, coach and evaluate knowledge and skills
  • Ability to learn and use technology as needed
  • Strong presentation and classroom instruction and facilitation skills
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Demonstrate self-starting skills, strong organizational skills, time management and strong work ethic with the ability to work beyond normal working hours to meet company needs
  • Ability to obtain a Class A CDL with Hazmat, tanker, air brakes, doubles and triples endorsements
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight as needed
  • Must be able to lift 50 - 75 pounds, must be able to climb, pull, reach and walk over simple obstacles

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies and procedures in alignment with OSHA and applicable local, state, and federal regulations, ensuring practical compliance across all operations
  • Deliver hands-on, industry-relevant safety training for managers and employees, strengthening leadership capability in worksite safety, fire prevention, and proper handling of chemicals, equipment, and hazardous materials
  • Partner with management to identify site-specific hazards and operational risks, recommending proactive corrective and preventative measures tailored to each location
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and job sites to evaluate safety conditions, track corrective actions, and verify effective implementation
  • Support accident, injury, and near-miss investigations by analyzing root causes and contributing factors, assisting with documentation for internal review, insurance matters, and regulatory or legal proceedings
  • Maintain accurate safety records, files, and documentation, including reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate and distribute safety communications, signage, barriers, and warning materials to reduce exposure to hazardous conditions
  • Implement and oversee site-specific safety programs
