About The Position

The Safety Specialist plays a key role in advancing the company’s commitment to a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. This role provides leadership in the planning, implementation, and day-to-day oversight of on-site safety programs, ensuring alignment with company philosophy, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Partnering closely with leaders and team members across the organization, the Safety Specialist promotes a proactive safety culture through training, engagement, and continuous improvement - helping ensure safety is not just a requirement, but a shared responsibility.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a safety, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment
• Strong project management and organizational skills with a sense of ownership and accountability
• Proven ability to coach, influence, and lead others to improve safety performance and behaviors
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to address risk factors firmly, respectfully, and effectively
• Strong judgment and situational awareness to identify hazards and take appropriate corrective action
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Customer-service mindset with an understanding that safety plays a key role in protecting people, operations, and the company’s reputation
• Alignment with the company’s mission, values, and established communication protocols
• Proficiency with basic office and computer tools

Nice To Haves

• First Aid/CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and ongoing management of on-site health and safety programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintain, implement, and annually review safety policies, procedures, and safety-related SOPs
• Conduct jobsite visits, safety audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and proactively address risks
• Investigate incidents and accidents, manage reporting, and drive corrective and preventative actions
• Promote safe work practices by addressing hazardous conditions and behaviors through training, education, and engagement with leaders and supervisors
• Oversee safety training programs, including in-class and online learning, and ensure required certifications and records are maintained
• Manage OSHA logs and ensure all safety documentation, records, and reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
• Assess, provide, and manage appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Lead the Safety Committee and reinforce a positive safety culture that encourages cooperation, openness, and strong morale
