About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and improve environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will prepare and present plans for these programs, provide training, and monitor compliance issues.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related field.
Project management and planning skills.
Experience in an automotive environment (0-5 years).
ISO14001 and TS16949 experience.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the automotive industry.
OSHA 30 certification.
Experience with project management.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement environmental, health, and safety programs.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.
Prepare and present plans for safety programs.
Provide training for Associates and others on Environmental, Facility, and Safety Policy and Procedures.
Monitor and assist with workplace safety compliance issues.
Oversee environmental monitoring for facility discharges, stormwater management, and related permits.
Perform industrial and hazardous waste management activities.
Conduct investigations and root cause analysis, recommending resolutions.
Implement corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement activities.
Maintain reporting systems and provide safety analysis.
Assist in job hazard assessments and research industry best practices.
Participate in EHS audits, inspections, and routine surveys.
Develop and draft audit documentation, track corrective actions, and monitor trends.
Maintain EHS files and records, and implement compliance tracking programs.
Develop technical documents including EHS procedures and guidance.
Coordinate and conduct EHS training programs.
Respond to emergency situations for immediate safety/security concerns.
