About The Position

The Safety Specialist at Conagra Brands is responsible for managing the Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) programs at the Kent, WA food manufacturing plant. This role focuses on ensuring a safe and accident-free work environment while minimizing environmental impact. The specialist will work closely with the Safety Manager and a team of over 235 members to implement safety initiatives, track safety metrics, and conduct training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in risk management or related discipline and/or 3 years related experience.
• Awareness of food safety, quality, and food manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with Continuous Improvement tools and fundamentals.
• Excellent skills in WORD and OUTLOOK.
• Conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to interpret technical information in mathematical and narrative form.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in food manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Update, maintain and distribute reports on environment, health and safety metrics and projects.
• Help implement corporate projects such as metric tracking systems and training systems.
• Implement safety key concepts to achieve zero injuries and world-class performance.
• Participate in accident investigations and prepare accident reports.
• Monitor activities for employee health and safety issues.
• Develop and maintain emergency action plans.
• Present new hire orientation and monthly safety training.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
