As a Safety Specialist III, you will be a senior member of the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) team, responsible for driving continuous improvement in safety performance. You will lead complex safety initiatives, mentor junior team members, and serve as a subject matter expert on HSE matters.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
4+ years of experience in a related field. Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience is required. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local HSE regulations.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Proven ability to manage complex HSE projects.
Knowledgeable with a variety of occupational health & safety standards, EPA, OSHA, and NFPA regulations.
Demonstrated ability to conduct a job hazard analysis, site audits, and incident root cause analysis.
Fluency with data capture, data analytics, spreadsheets, and presentation.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Nice To Haves

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification.
Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
Experience with DCMA INST 8210.
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
Certifications, including Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST).

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of advanced HSE programs and initiatives.
Conduct high-level safety risk assessments and provide expert recommendations.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior safety specialists.
Oversee the investigation of serious accidents and incidents, and develop comprehensive corrective actions.
Analyze HSE data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry organizations.
Coordinate company-wide emergency preparedness and response activities.
Ensure the organization remains compliant with all relevant HSE regulations and standards.
