The Safety Specialist 2 makes an impact by - The Safety Specialist 2 will be able to fulfill the role and all activities of the Safety Specialist 1. Responsible to develop and implement the company's safety training programs. Responsible to audit multi-faceted programs, such as the hearing conservation program, that requires knowledge and action in several different areas. Respond effectively and appropriately in all emergency situations and incidents (fires, spills, near misses, etc.) Be able to perform basic industrial hygiene tests, such as a noise meter. Must be able to perform gap analysis on all safety related situations to ensure the proper root cause. Perform all duties in compliance with all corporate and regulatory quality, GLP, and safety regulations. Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety & Quality. Demonstrate the ability to engage work in department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer. Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years of manufacturing experience, with food processing preferred
- Previous office experience preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office suite
Nice To Haves
- College degree preferred, or in lieu of, NSI or OSHA certifications
Responsibilities
