About The Position

The Safety Representative plays a crucial role in fostering a safety-sensitive culture within the organization by implementing safety programs and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This position involves conducting safety meetings, coordinating accident investigations, and maintaining safety records to promote proactive safety behaviors among employees.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in an OSHA regulated environment.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety-related position.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operations management conducts regularly scheduled safety meetings with various employee groups regarding safe practices.
  • Coordinate and participate in accident investigations and follow-up reporting for the division.
  • Recommend corrective actions post-accident and post-incident.
  • Ensure driver evaluations and re-evaluations are conducted according to company standards.
  • Administer and monitor drug testing policies to meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Train division managers and supervisors on health and safety regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accident registers, safety records, and driver certification files according to federal and state requirements.
  • Conduct employee observations, premise inspections, and vehicle safety inspections.
  • Perform site visits to ensure proper documentation of safety records and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in the investigation of serious accidents and provide data to division management.
