About The Position
The Connecticut Department of Correction (DOC), Facilities Maintenance & Engineering Department is currently recruiting for the position of Safety Program Officer. This is an exciting new opportunity for an individual to perform a full range of safety inspections in our 13 Correctional Institutions across the state. The position is based at Central Office in Wethersfield, CT and is full time, first shift. Travel will be required throughout the state to identify and inspect safety hazards. A State vehicle will be available and/or mileage reimbursement for travel. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and security of our workspaces through the evaluation and analysis of occupational safety. This position will also provide training to agency employees on occupational safety and related worker's compensation issues. This position will serve as a subject matter expert on occupational safety for the agency and will provide consultation in workers compensation cases.
