The Safety Program Development Intern will play a critical role in supporting the ongoing evolution of Do it Best's safety program. This hands-on internship is designed for a detail-oriented, analytical individual with a passion for workplace safety, continuous improvement, and effective communication. This opportunity will provide practical experience in safety program development, procedure writing, and data organization-supporting real business decisions and compliance efforts. This is a temporary position (approximately 10-12 weeks) and is paid on an hourly basis. The Intern may also be able to use this opportunity towards university/college credit.

  • Support Policy Development: Collaborate with the Safety team to review, rewrite, and align written safety policies and procedures with Do it Best's internal practices and standards.
  • Standardize Documentation: Assist in improving clarity, consistency, and compliance across all safety-related documentation.
  • Data Organization & Preparation: Collect, clean, and structure safety-related data to enable accurate analysis and visualization.
  • Interactive Dashboard Development: Assist in designing and organizing data for use in an interactive dashboard that support leadership decision-making and ongoing safety initiatives.
  • Benchmarking & Research: Conduct targeted research on safety best practices, industry standards, and effective data presentation methods.
  • Field Engagement: Participate in meetings, audits, and walkthroughs to gain firsthand knowledge of safety operations and to validate data sources.
  • Final Presentation: Summarize findings, demonstrate the interactive dashboard, and present proposed policy and process improvement to internal stakeholders at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Preferred: Occupational Safety & Health student who has completed coursework or electives in data analytics or information systems.
  • Secondary Preference: Data analytics or Industrial Engineering student with an interest in workplace safety and compliance.

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication - oral and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Valuable HR experience, working closely with the Safety Manager and HR Administrators.
  • Exposure to project management, HRIS systems, Career Development, Safety and much more.
  • College credit.
