About The Position

As a Safety Professional at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, you will play a crucial role in promoting health and safety practices across various teams. Your primary focus will be on reducing risks and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you will engage with leadership to implement effective safety processes and contribute to the overall safety culture at The Disneyland Resort.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industrial safety experience in a related industry such as petrochemical, construction, maintenance, manufacturing, hospitality, entertainment, transportation, or distribution.
  • Background and in-depth knowledge of industrial fall protection.
  • Comfortable working at high heights and wearing active fall protection equipment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, best practices, and guidelines such as confined space, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Expert in recognizing hazards and proposing mitigations.
  • Proficient in WDP&R's leadership competencies: Leadership, Management, Technical, and Relationships.
  • Ability to creatively resolve problems in a dynamic atmosphere.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of demonstrated safety management experience.
  • Experience utilizing web-based mapping tools like ArcGIS.
  • Passion for mentoring others through training and feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Promote healthy and safe working practices to all levels of leadership and lines of business.
  • Facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines.
  • Assist Leaders in preventing injury and ensuring compliance by integrating actionable safety processes.
  • Assess safety and health performance through data review, incident history, and audits.
  • Guide necessary behavioral or environmental changes creatively and cost-effectively.
  • Address Guest-related safety issues.
  • Participate in the project review process to guide safety improvements in the design phase.
  • Inform Operations Leaders and Safety Leadership of safety and health issues and standard processes.
  • Attend area Leadership Staff Meetings.
  • Conduct incident investigations, job safety analyses, and site walks with area leaders.
  • Conduct slip tests, light tests, noise surveys, and IAQ investigations as needed.
  • Partner with the Safety and Health Programs Team for indoor air quality investigations.
  • Assist with Cal-OSHA complaints and inspections.
  • Serve as the Safety & Health Duty Manager on a rotational basis.
