About The Position

The Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the health and safety management system for the Parts Division within our distribution and manufacturing operations in the USA. This position involves a significant amount of time spent on the warehouse floor, approximately 50% of the shift, where the Safety Coordinator will conduct safety observations, perform incident investigations, interview employees, and provide training on safety procedures. The role is essential in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and the continuous improvement of safety processes. In addition to the hands-on responsibilities, the Safety Coordinator will participate in the design and implementation of processes aimed at reducing workplace hazards. This includes conducting thorough incident investigations and ergonomic reviews to determine effective corrective actions. The Coordinator will compile and analyze data and documentation necessary to comply with safety regulations and the health and safety management system requirements. Recommendations for health and safety processes and programs will be developed to align with John Deere's health and safety standards and applicable laws. The role also involves managing safety recordkeeping in accordance with OSHA guidelines and internal procedures, coordinating safety audits, and conducting risk assessments to identify noncompliance with John Deere standards and regulations. The Safety Coordinator will review new processes, equipment, and assets for potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards, making recommendations as necessary prior to their introduction. Furthermore, the Coordinator will respond to inquiries related to safety and health issues, leveraging their knowledge and experience, and will be responsible for developing and conducting safety presentations and training sessions.
