About The Position

The Safety Monitor will be directly responsible for all activities in the physical plant and ensuring civility amongst residents, visitors, and staff. He/she controls access to the facility twenty-four hours a day and will report any hazardous conditions within the facility and grounds to the Safety Supervisor on duty.

Requirements

Two years’ experience in commercial and/or residential security services.
Must have an active New York State Security Guard License.
Good communication/writing skills, experience working with families / homeless population.
Must meet all the requirements regarding the Security Guard Act of 1992.
Must obtain a Fire Guard (F02) License.
Must successfully complete a background investigation.

Nice To Haves

Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensures that the Safety Supervisors orders of the shift are followed.
Performs and ensures that all Detex patrols are completed and conducts the patrols on a half hour basis.
Communicates all pertinent information to the Safety Supervisor.
Ensures that all entries are made and accurate in the security desk logbook.
Obtain client signatures to complete Daily Attendance Roster.
Maintains a safe and secure environment for the residents, staff, and visitors.
Must be certified in First Aid and CPR.
Must be able to rotate shifts at the Director of Operations discretion and/or as needs of the business requires.
Utilizing the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) - Client Assistance and Re-housing Enterprise System (CARES) complete incident reports as needed.
Adhere to the Agency dress code for Safety personnel and maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times.
Drive the facility van when required.
Must maintain valid NYS Security License.
Must be available for overtime when business needs are required.
