About The Position

The position is focused on leading and supporting safety programs within a crew environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a positive safety culture. The role requires a strong leader who can inspire and motivate crew members, assess their fitness for duty, and enforce safe work practices. The individual will conduct on-the-job training, manage time effectively for paperwork tasks, and lead incident response efforts. The work environment is outdoor-based, requiring the individual to be present in the field throughout the workday.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years’ experience supporting or leading safety programs.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in the industry being overseen.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License and have at least 3 years of driving experience.
  • Must be able to report fit-for-duty at requested time and location.
  • Must pass company driving test and pre-employment drug/alcohol screen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR/BLS/AED certification.
  • Must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must possess conflict resolution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Tree Safety Professional (CTSP) preferred.
  • International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and motivate crew members to perform to their potential.
  • Assess each crew member to ensure they are fit for duty each day.
  • Enforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide support for daily/weekly toolbox topics and safety meetings.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for employees as needed.
  • Manage time effectively to complete and submit weekly paperwork tasks.
  • Lead incident response efforts and promote Stop Work Authority.
  • Represent the company professionally and maintain personal and crew conduct.
  • Promote company safety culture to employees.
  • Participate in daily crew meetings and share trending information.
  • Provide oversight of crew activities and document work performed.
  • Complete observation reports in a timely manner.
  • Inspect gear and equipment of all crews and recommend replacements as needed.
  • Assist with employee training, retraining, or refresher training.
