Primary Function : The Safety Manager is a field-focused leadership role responsible for directing and sustaining a strong safety culture across assigned projects while ensuring compliance with all regulatory, client, and Company requirements. This position is responsible for supervising, coaching, developing, and evaluating Field Safety Representatives while ensuring consistent execution of safety expectations, documentation, and compliance standards. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the Safety Manager will directly support select projects as needed. This position will be based in our Deer Park office located at 1300 Underwood Road Deer Park, Texas and will report to Dashiell’s Vice President of Safety. Consistent and visible time in the field is a critical component of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of construction, craft, or safety experience in construction or industrial environments.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, NESC, and construction safety standards.
  • Demonstrated experience leading incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coaching abilities.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in field-based environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in substation and/or transmission construction is highly preferred.
  • Certifications, including: CSP, CHST, OHST, CESCP, CUSP preferred.
  • OSHA 500 advanced credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate Field Safety Representatives.
  • Ensure consistent execution of daily safety responsibilities across all assigned sites.
  • Provide performance coaching and development for field safety personnel.
  • Conduct periodic field audits of assigned representatives to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Coordinate field coverage planning and resource allocation.
  • Support recruiting and onboarding of field safety personnel as needed.
  • Maintain visible presence at project sites to observe operations and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Develop and implement pre-job safety execution plans and Job Safety Task Analyses (JSTAs).
  • Perform jobsite safety audits, inspections, and consultations addressing compliance, procedural, subcontractor, equipment, and environmental concerns.
  • Support high-risk activities including energized work, confined space, LOTO, and heavy equipment operations.
  • Ensure inspection, testing, and documentation of safety equipment including insulated tools, rubber goods, protective grounds, and fall protection systems.
  • Interpret and apply OSHA, DOT, NFPA, NESC, and client-specific safety regulations.
  • Lead and review incident investigations conducted by Field Safety Representatives.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of safety reports, documentation, and required submissions.
  • Represent the company during client audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party reviews.
  • Oversee and support delivery of safety and compliance training.
  • Participate in jobsite safety meetings and client-mandated meetings.
  • Provide technical guidance and safety leadership to operations teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the development and continuous improvement of safety programs, standards, and best practices across construction and field operations.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.
