About The Position

Forest Electric NY is committed to strengthening our culture of safety awareness, accountability, and proactive field execution. We are seeking a full-time on-site Safety Manager who will serve as a consistent, professional presence on our project sites - conducting safety inspections, identifying and resolving safety concerns, and fostering strong working relationships with general contractors, site leadership, and field personnel. The Safety Manager will work alongside the current lead of our safety program.

Requirements

  • 62-hour Site Safety Supervisor card
  • Ability to identify known and potential safety related exposures

Nice To Haves

  • Site Safety Manager Certification through the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) highly preferred
  • Board of Certified Safety Professional

Responsibilities

  • Updating and creating safety policies and procedures
  • Building and maintaining safety training schedules and continued education programs
  • Implementing new safety initiatives and tracking their effectiveness
  • Coordinate with Corporate safety programs and collaborate with Company and Corporate safety teams
  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance of reporting and documentation
  • Attending relevant seminars, trainings, and EMCOR safety conferences
  • Partnering with Local Union #3 and JIB safety teams
  • Communicating safety expectations clearly to field leadership and crews
  • Monitoring and interpreting key safety metrics and trends
  • Managing PPE inventory, distribution, and quality control
  • Reviewing Methods of Procedure (MOP) and Pre‑Task Plans
  • Being physically present for all shutdowns, tie‑ins, live work, and other high‑risk tasks
  • Conduct regular, documented field safety inspections of all work activities
  • Identify hazards, document concerns, and ensure timely corrective actions
  • Work to build productive, solution-focused relationships with general contractors and their safety departments
  • Serve as the main safety point of contact with general contractors, property owners, and client safety teams
  • Collaborate with general contractor safety personnel to align expectations and resolve safety conflicts professionally
  • Engage foremen and field personnel in meaningful safety discussions and follow‑ups
  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning reviews
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, client, and property owner requirements
  • Conduct near-miss, accident, and injury investigations
  • Maintain PPE compliance and ensure availability of required equipment
  • Assist with Job Hazard Analyses, Task Hazard Analyses, and action plans
  • Perform equipment inspections (PPE, harnesses, cords, ladders, lifts, tools, etc.)
  • Provide first aid where appropriate and accompany injured workers to medical facilities
  • Ensure consistent enforcement of safety policies
  • Document and communicate disciplinary actions when required
