About The Position

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and managing all aspects of the facility’s safety, health, and security programs. This role ensures full regulatory compliance, minimizes workplace risks, and fosters a culture committed to safety excellence. The Safety Manager oversees safety policies, procedures, training programs, audits, and emergency response efforts while managing safety personnel and working closely with leadership to implement continuous improvements. The Safety Manager also maintains accountability for security protocols and the overall management of the security team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety preferred.
  • 2 years of safety experience in a plant or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • OSHA training and CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all safety, health, and security initiatives within the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, and maintain comprehensive documentation to support compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and update company SOPs, safety programs, security protocols, and emergency response procedures.
  • Lead the design, scheduling, and delivery of all safety and regulatory training for employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Remain current on legislative and regulatory changes, communicate impacts to leadership, and implement timely compliance measures.
  • Oversee the company’s security policy and manage the security team to ensure a secure workplace environment
  • Conduct facility-wide audits, inspections, risk assessments, and job observations to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
  • Manage safety performance metrics, track incident trends, and create action plans that promote continuous improvement.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, HR, maintenance, and leadership teams to enhance safety culture and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain all OSHA-required documentation, training records, and equipment testing logs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee security policies, procedures, and personnel, ensuring consistent and effective management of the security team.
  • Direct and support first aid and medical response procedures; administer first aid when needed.
  • Oversee the upkeep, organization, and replenishment of first aid stations and medical supplies.
  • Serve as the primary lead during safety-related incidents, investigations, and emergency situations.
  • Represent the facility during external audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
