Safety Manager Preston Pipelines Inc., Bay Area based General Engineering and General Building contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Manager. Candidate must be a self-starter and well versed in CAL OSHA regulations. Primary Function: Conduct all the tasks required to prepare the work force to work safely in a construction environment. Perform constant follow-up to ensure employees are following safety requirements. Assist management with guidance on how to complete tasks safety. Resolve all safety issues that arise from customers, employees and company mangers. Communicate constantly with employees to ensure they are provided with everything needed Complete projects safety and effectively. Assist customer in providing emergency response as needed. Prepare professional reports, conduct safety meetings, be the company spokesperson for safety issues, research and answer safety related concerns. This position requires an applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to recognize hazardous situations, identify the safety method to both accomplish the task and comply with regulatory guidance, and implement follow-up recommendations. Other skills include a thorough understanding of federal, state and local safety regulations, great communication and interpersonal skills, a degree of responsibility that drives you to own all safety issues brought to your attention.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable in Cal OSHA Regulations
  • valid California driver license

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
  • Computer experience is a plus (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe)
  • Electrical Safety experience preferred
  • Trenching and Excavation experience a plus
  • SWPP/QSP Certification is a plus
  • Four-year occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or construction safety experience required. Professional safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing job site audits & inspections
  • Conducting safety training/presentations
  • Performing accident investigations
  • Participating in & leading Job Safety Analysis (JSA) meetings
  • Works independently with minimal guidance
