The Safety Manager reports to the SVP of Operations Support and plays a key role in our safety programs and safety culture. Role Overview: The Safety Manager will oversee the health and safety of 12,000 service professionals across the U.S. This role is responsible for designing and scaling safety programs specifically for residential environments, ensuring every technician—from HVAC, Electrical to Plumbing—operates under the highest standards of protection and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related engineering field preferred.
  • Experience: 4+ years of safety leadership experience, preferably in large-scale residential service, construction, or a multi-site utility environment preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of OSHA 1910 (General Industry) and 1926 (Construction), as well as NFPA electrical standards preferred.

  • Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program Development & Scaling: Create and implement uniform, multi-state safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure total compliance with federal and state OSHA regulations, DOT requirements for the service fleet, and local trade-specific codes.
  • Incident Investigation: work with Claims department on root cause analysis (RCA) for all major accidents and "near misses," implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence across the organization.
  • Training & Education: Oversee the delivery of trade-specific safety training, including electrical arc flash (NFPA 70E), ladder safety, proper lifting, confined space entry, PPE use, Dig Safe, and hazardous material handling.
  • Safety Audits: Manage a national audit program to inspect residential jobsites and service vehicles, identifying and mitigating latent hazards.
  • Culture Leadership: Foster a "safety first" mindset through awareness campaigns, recognition programs, and open communication channels for field staff.
  • Fleet Telematics & Dashcam - hands-on experience with Geotab telematics & dashcams to monitor real-time driver behavior, including harsh braking, speeding, and seatbelt usage. Utilize driver safety scores to develop personalized coaching plans and gamified safety competition
