About The Position

This position provides full-time safety oversight for a large-scale solar field construction project. The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, renewable energy safety protocols, and client-specific requirements. Work will involve close coordination with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and site leadership to support safe installation of solar panels, racking systems, electrical components, and associated infrastructure.

Requirements

• OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 required
• Minimum 5 years of solar-related safety experience
• Proven experience managing safety on utility-scale renewable energy projects
• Strong knowledge of construction and electrical safety practices
• Personal laptop/tablet for safety documentation and reporting
• Ability to work in outdoor, all-weather field conditions
• Willingness to travel and remain on-site for project duration (if applicable)
• Strong working knowledge of renewable energy and construction safety standards
• Experience with electrical safety, fall protection, and heavy equipment operations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in remote or large project environments
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Expertise in OSHA 1926 and applicable renewable energy safety standards, with specific focus on utility-scale solar installation risks, electrical hazards, working at heights, equipment operations, and environmental exposure controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site safety for solar field construction activities
• Enforce OSHA, client, and site-specific safety programs
• Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and field observations
• Lead site orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and compliance records
• Coordinate with project management and subcontractors on hazard controls
