About The Position

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the day-to-day operation of plant safety while advancing safety leadership throughout the organization. This role directs and supports safety initiatives, develops and maintains safety systems, and partners with Managers and Supervisors to promote a strong and proactive safety culture. Responsibilities include safety planning, regulatory compliance, training, incident prevention, and continuous improvement of all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Occupational Safety or related field preferred
  • 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, industrial, or distribution settings
  • Proven track record of leading cultural transformation through influence, implementing safety initiatives, managing OSHA documentation and incident prevention strategies, and collaborating effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Safety Program Management: Oversee day-to-day safety operations of the plant.
  • Develop and manage the facility’s Safety budget.
  • Coordinate safety activities with Management, Supervisors, and other departments in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Implement and manage safety initiatives, including Safety and Accident Prevention programs.
  • Participate in Preventative and Corrective Action processes.
  • Assist in Research & Development activities related to safety improvements
  • Deploy, support, and maintain EHS programs with emphasis on regulatory compliance and resource conservation.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting Develop strong working knowledge of KY-OSH regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Manage and maintain safety tracking logs, OSHA logs, and other required safety databases.
  • Responsible for EPA reporting and EHS regulatory documentation.
  • Manage workers’ compensation cases and related documentation.
  • Training and Internal Expertise: Conduct safety orientations and powered industrial equipment training for new associates
  • Serve as CPR/First Aid trainer and maintain certification.
  • Act as internal expert on the facility’s security system.
  • Support internal audits including ISO QMS/Food Safety (if certified).
  • Operational Support: Maintain communication between supervisors and the plant floor regarding safety matters.
  • Support deployment of safety initiatives across multiple departments.
  • Assist with CMMS administration, inventory cycle counts, and other identified backup support areas.
