About The Position
This assignment provides full-time, on-site safety leadership for a construction project in St. George, South Carolina. The Safety Manager will oversee a crew of approximately 30 personnel performing roofing membrane installation activities. The role requires strong field presence, hands-on safety leadership, and direct involvement in daily site safety operations.
Requirements
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of construction experience with CSP, or
- 5 years of construction experience with a degree in a safety-related field, or
- Minimum of 10 years of full-time construction safety experience with OSHA 500 certification
- Proven experience supporting roofing and scaffolding operations
- Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Maintain a consistent on-site field presence during all active work hours
- Enforce fall protection, scaffolding, and roofing safety requirements
- Identify, communicate, and assist in correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors
- Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and task-specific briefings
- Coordinate with site supervision to address safety concerns in real time
- Complete daily safety reports, observations, and documentation
- Promote a strong safety culture through engagement and leadership
