About The Position

HFI Management (“HFIM”) is currently seeking a Safety Manager based in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This role oversees safety and regulatory compliance programs across all affiliated companies. HFIM is the administrative and sales support division of the Brad Hall family of companies. HFIM supports companies in fuel and lube distribution, propane sales, retail fuel stations, oil field services farming, fuel transportation and other industries. The family of Companies does business in the Western United States and supplies to over 30 states. The Safety Manager will primarily be focused on:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or a related field.
  • Two or more years’ experience in safety management for an oil/gas/transportation/Process Safety Management or related industry.
  • Strong understanding and background with third party management systems (ISNet, Avetta, Variform).
  • Current GSP, CSP or CIH credential.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Lead, implement, and oversee safety training programs for all employees.
  • Maintain and manage all required safety documentation and records, including OSHA 300 logs, workers’ compensation records, and safety performance analytics.
  • Support Operations in meeting environmental compliance requirements by coordinating required monitoring, documentation, and regulatory reporting accurately and on time.
  • Support and administer Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, including compliance with applicable OSHA PSM elements, documentation, and coordination with Operations.
  • Incident and Claim Management
  • Manage and support incident response activities, including timely notification, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Lead or support incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor workers’ compensation claims, assist with medical management, and support cost control efforts.
  • Inspections and Claim Management
  • Conduct site-specific safety audits and assessments, including driver evaluations, ride-alongs, and operational observations.
  • Assign corrective actions to front-line supervisors and monitor completion to ensure timely closure and continuous improvement.
  • Program Management
  • Manage and oversee safety compliance programs across all affiliated companies.
  • Ensure safety programs are complete, effective, and consistently implemented, including site-specific safety requirements.
  • Support and coordinate Safety Committee activities, including meeting facilitation, agenda development, and follow-up actions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans.
  • Design, implement, and manage safety incentive programs to promote employee engagement and continuous improvement.
