Safety Professional A person who is formally educated in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a science-based curriculum. The person is qualified to act as a subject matter expert in Safety Management. Purpose: To implement and manage Safety programs for the site. This position may or may not have direct reports. Leadership Skill Set: Leads by example, mentoring, and exhibiting behaviors that are consistent with the company’s values. May provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational areas. May plan and monitor appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. May provide recommendations regarding staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action, and termination. May prepare and/or deliver performance appraisal for staff. Portrays a passion for safety and the well-being of people.
