About The Position

American International Contractors (Special Projects), Inc. (AICI-SP) is currently seeking Safety Manager candidates to work overseas on upcoming projects in Europe and the Middle East. We are searching for individuals who hold an active secret security clearance, may have held a clearance in the recent past or have the ability to obtain a security clearance. Experience working with Department of State OBO or U.S. Corps of Engineer as your client and any international experience is highly valued. PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Safety Manager will supervise and monitor construction safety programs and manage (OSHA) inspections as well as train employees on safety regulations and verify program compliance in accordance with U.S. Government guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Completed the 30 hour OSHA construction safety class
  • Five (5) years as a site construction safety manager or four (4) years, including the aforementioned, if he/she possesses a certified Safety Professional (CSP) certificate
  • Fully knowledgeable regarding all sections in the latest edition of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety & Health Requirements Manual EM385-1-1
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be willing to work overseas

Nice To Haves

  • International construction industry experience interacting with various diverse cultures
  • An Active Secret Level U.S. Security Clearance
  • Certified in first-aid and CPR
  • Competent Person (CP) training certification (per EM385-1-1) in the following areas: scaffolding; fall protection; hazardous energy; health hazard recognition, evaluation and control of chemical, physical and biological agents; personal protective equipment and clothing to include selection, use and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure AICI-SP is conforming to all OHS requirements of contract and local OHS policies
  • Effective implementation, coordination, and enforcement of the Construction Accident Prevention Plan (CAPP)
  • Anticipate, identify, evaluate, and implement corrective action through activity/worker hazard analysis, worker training, proactive over-site of construction operations to abate or reduced potential safety and health hazards and dangerous environmental exposures
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all laws surrounding construction safety
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and other company-wide safety standards
  • Follow incidents of construction-related accidents - perform a thorough investigation to ensure that all required policies were followed
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system to monitor all construction-related accidents
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Operations Manager
