Safety Manager - Nashville, TN
About The Position
The Safety Manager will oversee safety operations for a steel and iron contractor supporting construction of the Vanderbilt Baseball Arena in Nashville, TN. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety standards on an active, high-profile construction project. The position requires a hands-on safety professional capable of managing field safety activities, conducting inspections, and coordinating closely with project leadership and subcontractors. Emphasis will be placed on fall protection, rigging, steel erection, and precast-related activities. This is a short-term contract assignment with extended hours and a fast-paced environment, ideal for a safety professional with strong construction safety experience in structural steel and precast work.
Requirements
- OSHA 30 Certification
- OSHA 510 Certification
- Steel and/or precast construction project experience
- Prior experience in construction safety management
- Ability to work a 6-day schedule with extended hours
- Ability to work on-site in Nashville, TN
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA construction standards, steel and precast safety protocols, fall protection systems, rigging and crane safety, and best practices for maintaining compliance on large-scale commercial construction projects
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily safety operations for steel and iron work activities
- Enforce OSHA and site-specific safety policies and procedures
- Conduct daily safety inspections and job hazard analyses
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
- Identify and mitigate potential jobsite hazards
- Coordinate with project management and field supervision
- Maintain accurate safety records and reports
