About The Position

Bird Electric, a Black & Veatch company, is a U.S. self-perform electrical construction services provider with a national reach in emergency power restoration. Bird Electric delivers grid solutions and operates in adjacent distributed infrastructure markets including renewables, electric vehicle (EV) charging, and connectivity.   This postiion is responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining the Company's Safety Procedures. Performs high complexity safety related tasks.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in a construction environment
  • 5+ years safety and health experience
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • May manage safety team.
  • Oversees site safety inspections.
  • Complete SSSP for site specifics.
  • Implements, administers, manages, and maintains project safety programs and training.
  • Manages training logs and training compliance.
  • Oversees and manages employee safety programs.
  • Conduct safety trainings.
  • Manages project security contracts, programs and policies.
  • Manages safety professionals.
  • Manages incident and injury/illness investigations.
  • Writes detailed reports.
  • Completes all appropriate company safety program documents.
  • Interfaces with clients and government officials.
  • Manages construction contractor safety administration.
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
  • Manages compliance platformed such as ISN/Verforce and others as needed.
