About The Position

This assignment provides full-time, on-site safety oversight for the asbestos abatement and structural demolition of a closed OXY plant in Niagara Falls, New York. The Safety Manager will support high-risk environmental and demolition activities, ensuring strict compliance with OSHA, HAZWOPER, and site-specific safety requirements throughout all phases of the project.

Requirements

• OSHA 30
• OSHA 510
• HAZWOPER
• Asbestos and Lead Awareness
• Proven asbestos abatement experience
• Structural demolition safety experience
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent on-site field presence during active abatement and demolition work
• Monitor high-hazard activities including asbestos handling and structural teardown
• Identify, communicate, and assist in correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors
• Conduct daily safety inspections, JHAs, and toolbox talks
• Complete daily safety documentation, reports, and incident tracking
• Participate in site safety meetings and coordination efforts
• Support incident prevention and continuous safety improvement initiatives
