The Safety Manager at PACCAR Technical Center is tasked with the critical responsibility of developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety programs. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe working environment by sustaining safety initiatives and fostering a strong safety culture within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of high-level technical expertise and leadership experience, enabling them to effectively collaborate with various levels of management to promote safety across the facility. In this position, the Safety Manager will oversee a wide array of safety functions, including the prevention, inspection, investigation, and documentation of incidents. They will be responsible for identifying hazardous conditions, tracking safety metrics, and recommending appropriate corrective actions. The role also involves providing leadership and training to both managers and employees, ensuring that everyone is equipped to recognize potential hazards and prevent accidents. The Safety Manager will manage the worker's compensation program, which includes conducting investigations, reporting incidents, and gathering information for claims management. They will work closely with the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Safety team to implement and maintain safety requirements specific to BEV operations, including training and certification for technicians. Additionally, the Safety Manager will participate in risk assessments and long-term safety projects, collaborating with relevant managers and corporate safety teams to streamline processes and enhance safety measures. This position requires a proactive approach to safety, including the administration of safety training programs, the maintenance of emergency response protocols, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Safety Manager will coordinate with OSHA inspectors and local authorities to ensure adherence to safety standards and will assist in basic first aid treatment as needed. Overall, this role is essential in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring that PACCAR Technical Center operates within the highest safety standards.
