About The Position

The Safety Area Manager at OMNI Engineering is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety, health, and risk management programs across various operating companies. This role involves monitoring safety performance, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to foster a safe working environment for all employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene or safety/health related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in safety, construction, or related industries preferred.
  • Must be 18 years or older and pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OSHA and MSHA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain company safety programs, utilizing new developments in human performance and technology for incident prevention.
  • Assist with incident analysis and provide recommendations for risk reduction.
  • Organize and maintain records for all incidents and injuries, including various liability claims.
  • Maintain liaison with affiliated agencies such as insurance companies, MSHA, OSHA, and Labor Commissions.
  • Oversee site safety audits and assist site personnel in selecting and installing safety devices.
  • Conduct hazard awareness and correction sessions with operations personnel.
  • Guide supervisors in using Coaching Action Plans to eliminate undesired behaviors and promote safe practices.
  • Implement Human Performance philosophies and coordinate with managers to drive a Learning Culture.
  • Provide direction and technical support to minimize employee exposure through established industrial hygiene practices.
  • Coordinate and schedule annual safety training and project-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct new hire safety training and ensure compliance with MSHA/OSHA requirements.
  • Support safety committees and promote an inclusive work environment.
