Southland Industries is seeking a Site Safety Manager to take a leading role in protecting the health and well-being of our teams in the field. In this role, you'll partner closely with division safety and project leadership to drive safety excellence and ensure full compliance with all safety standards and procedures. This position is based full-time on-site in Cheyenne, WY. While your immediate focus will be the Cheyenne project, future opportunities may involve travel to support other high-impact projects across the division or company.

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day safety activities on-site.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture that prioritizes prevention, awareness, and accountability.
  • Ensure that all field operations and facilities meet regulatory and company-specific safety requirements.
  • Support the implementation of division-wide safety initiatives and best practices.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections and recommend correction of hazardous situations for compliance with regulatory, Company and owner requirements for a region or area within the division.
  • Develop reports and presentations for safety briefings with company management.
  • Provide strategic and proactive direction on initiatives that will improve company Environmental, Health and Safety performance through minimizing risks and liabilities.
  • Implement all aspects of corporate safety manual and ensure that all field employees and subcontractors are complying.
  • Oversee and direct programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
  • Provide guidance for departmental processes and activities including compliance with safety regulations and the investigation of accidents.
  • Provide performance coaching and feedback for direct reports as needed.
  • Participate in annual performance process and be involved in hiring process.
  • Excellent working knowledge of health and safety management systems; OSHA CFR 1926 standards or the state construction safety regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer-service and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills-experience with Microsoft Office suite and ability to access OSHA information via the internet.
  • Travels more than 50% of time.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline required.
  • Certifications in CPR and First Aid required.
  • OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training required.
  • OSHA 500 and CHST certifications required.
  • CSP required.
