About The Position

Feyen Zylstra is looking for a Safety Manager for the Charlotte, NC office. The Safety Manager is a member of the Safety Team and collaborates with project team leaders, field leaders, and front-line field workers to educate all on FZ’s best-in-class safety culture and standards and ensure those standards are adhered to by all. The Safety Manager will help build, maintain and improve safety programs, policies, processes, and practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Construction or Industrial related Safety.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or relevant degree strongly preferred.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician licensing is a plus.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 strongly preferred.
• Safety certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, CHST) are a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), safety software, and data analysis tools.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong relationship building and influencing skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project team leaders, field leaders, and front-line field workers to promote safety culture.
• Educate employees on safety standards and ensure adherence to safety policies.
• Build, maintain, and improve safety programs, policies, processes, and practices.
• Document and track safety metrics and progress.
• Communicate pertinent safety information to all stakeholders.
• Provide 24 X 7 on-call support for safety emergencies or incidents.
