JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Safety Manager position will support the Pull-A-Part and U Pull & Pay team by leading and developing teammates, tracking performance and identifying gaps, and driving continuous improvement for all East stores-Augusta, Charlotte, Columbia, Knoxville, Nashville, Winston-Salem. As the Safety Manager, you will work with the Safety Director to fulfill the following job responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, stay current with any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Participate in a culture that focuses on "Safety First" & "Environmental Stewardship" and adheres to environmental, health, and safety standards. Perform all daily tasks with a positive attitude and a focus on the four core company values - Respect, Help, Learn & Grow. Abide by the Company Playbook, which includes all company policies, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOP's). Works with facility/store core teams to investigate incidents and near misses. Provides or coordinates safety training for all levels of the organization. Develops and implements site-specific safety policies and safe work procedures. Performs industrial hygiene testing and implements corrective measures as needed. Approves safety supplies and personal protective equipment for use. Assists in enforcing safety rules and helps develop good employee safety attitudes during facility/store visits. Ensures all documentation and record keeping is properly completed and retained. Serves as first contact for OSHA or other safety regulators and recommends company safety policy changes. Periodically presents information during meetings on safety topics. Strong time management skills with effective adherence to deadlines and targets. Oversee medical response practices in multiple store locations. Interact with various occupational medical locations. Fulfill other tasks as directed by the EHS Director.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel to facility/store locations at least 70%, if business demands. Augusta, Charlotte, Columbia, Knoxville, Nashville, Winston-Salem.
  • Flexible working overtime, off-hours, weekends, and holidays in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes of priority and complete job tasks safely and effectively without constant supervision.
  • Must be willing to collaborate in a group setting with the ability to communicate clearly and share knowledge effectively.
  • Physically able to stand with arms extended above the head for periods of time.
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft Office product knowledge and the ability to navigate mobile devices.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Required to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment while working.
  • Ability to always follow company safety and environmental procedures.
