About The Position

The Safety Manager at Austin Bridge & Road is responsible for overseeing the management of the site safety program across multiple sites, particularly for the Austin-Bergstrom Airport Infrastructure Project. This role involves educating and training personnel on safety regulations and policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Occupational Health & Safety preferred.
• 10 or more years of experience in construction safety required, with highway/heavy civil experience preferred.
• CHSO or CHST certification required.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Practical knowledge and continuing education in safety-related areas.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management of the site safety program on multiple sites.
• Educate and train personnel in federal, state, and local safety laws and policies.
• Facilitate site safety inspections and correct deficiencies.
• Train new employees on Austin and OSHA safety policies.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining the SWPPP for the job.
• Provide mandatory safety training to personnel, including OSHA 10-Hour and Competent Person Training.
• Interact with project managers to identify possible hazards.
• Assist in the administration of safety and DBO2 programs for the jobsite.
• Maintain and report relevant safety statistics, including incident rates and lost time rates.
