About The Position

The Safety Manager at G2 Secure Staff is responsible for overseeing the safety policies and procedures at Detroit Wayne County International Airport (DTW). This role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating safety measures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. The Safety Manager acts as a local safety advocate, engaging employees in the Safety Program to promote continuous improvement and cost reduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience.
• Five years of experience in a safety leadership role.
• Thorough understanding of federal, state, local, and company regulations.
• Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISAGO, SMS, and DOT standards.
• Strong leadership and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and prioritization abilities.
• Ability to analyze data and produce reports for senior management.
• Proven success in developing and implementing safety procedures.
• Demonstrated presentation, training, and facilitation skills.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in occupational safety/industrial health education or a related field.
• Airport experience.
• Management or supervisory experience.
• Safety and Compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and direction for safety policies and procedures.
• Implement a safety plan for the station.
• Ensure the implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational safety issues.
• Adhere to company policies and participate in achieving company objectives.
• Perform other duties as requested.
