Under the general direction of the Senior Manager of Airport Safety, the Safety Management System Specialist is responsible for assisting with regulatory inspections of both Movement and Non-movement areas, ensuring compliance with safety regulations under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 139. This role involves monitoring hazard reporting systems, maintaining training records and Safety Management System (SMS) communications, and assisting in safety meetings and training initiatives to promote a culture of safety. The Specialist will also assist in risk management assessments, maintain records of safety investigations, and promote SMS objectives across Tampa International Airport (TPA). Tampa International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. Employees may be required to work extended hours, alternative shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays), or in response to staffing challenges, weather conditions, or emergency situations.
