About The Position

The Safety Lane Inspector is responsible for conducting quality inspections of the tractor and trailer fleet, ensuring compliance with Montgomery Transport's policies and DOT regulations. This role emphasizes timely and efficient inspections to maintain safety and operational standards.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Mechanical skills and aptitude for the position.
• Ability to read and write in English and possess some computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify D.O.T. issues on all equipment operated by Montgomery.
• Ensure C.S.A. violations are identified and repaired before equipment leaves the facility.
• Understand the fleet's equipment and maintain company standards.
• Capture and inspect all equipment during yard checks and monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with company, EPA, and Safety policies to meet local, state, and federal standards.
• Complete all repair orders promptly, charging labor and parts to the appropriate unit.
• Return unused parts to the parts room and maintain company tools responsibly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area, minimizing spills, grease, and debris.
• Coach and communicate effectively with shop and driving staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
