About The Position

The Safety Lane Inspector at Waste Pro is responsible for conducting safety inspections on vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and assisting drivers in the completion of daily vehicle safety checks. This entry-level position requires a general knowledge of heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems, and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Ability to assist drivers with Pre/Post trip process.
• Ability to identify visible repairs required on vehicles such as lights, mirrors, leaks, and body damage.
• Knowledge of tire inspections and air pressure adjustments.
• Basic computer skills as required.

Responsibilities

• Aid/assist drivers in completion of the daily Post trip and vehicle safety inspection process.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment during Safety Lane and PM's.
• Communicate with A & B technicians/drivers regarding vehicle issues and discuss preventative techniques.
• Complete all required paperwork and computer data entry.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Assist division by performing route observations to ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Complete route observation reports and discuss observations with drivers and helpers.
• Identify training needs and review with drivers.
• Maintain extra safety equipment and materials in the vehicle.
