What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors As a Safety Intern, you will support our Safety team in promoting a strong safety culture across OHM Advisors. You will gain hands-on experience helping to keep our offices and project sites safe while learning how company-wide safety programs are managed and support our mission of Advancing Communities. Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems.
  • Able to work independently, on a team, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or campus involvement related to safety is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with safety awareness efforts such as toolbox talks and safety moments.
  • Help review and update sections of the company safety manual.
  • Support safety training programs and track participation in our Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Travel occasionally to visit office or project sites and observe safety practices.
  • Assist with maintaining safety records, documentation and information pages.
  • Support safety audits and site inspections.
  • Help track incidents, near misses, and safety metrics.
  • Ensure safety signage and materials are current; assist with PPE coordination and distribution.
  • Participate in basic risk assessments and learn how mitigation strategies are developed.
