Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study.
  • Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements. Preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • Ability to work with all levels in the organization from craft to leadership.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
  • The ability to travel and relocate as required.

  • Prior internship or work experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the corporate-wide Safety management program.
  • Helps ensure government and company compliance and assists with the development and implementation of job-specific plans.
  • Coordinates inspections with internal and external representatives and assists with the claims process.
  • Attends weekly subcontractor meetings to remain involved in project progress and safety matters, as appropriate.
  • Monitors safety efforts of subcontractors and Brinkmann employees.
  • Helps enforce government and company regulations to ensure associate and subcontractor compliance by conducting job site inspections and addressing issues.
  • Reviews documentation to ensure all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of job-specific safety plans.
  • Schedules jobsite visits and safety audits.
  • Conducts documented Project Safety and Health Inspections.
  • Works directly with the Senior Safety Manager or Safety Manager.
