About The Position

Nucor Cold Finish Nebraska is seeking to fill the positions of a motivated and detail-oriented Safety Intern to join our team at our division. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of industrial safety within a leading steel manufacturing company. The Safety Intern will assist the Safety Coordinator in implementing and maintaining safety programs, conducting safety audits, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the facility. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

• Graduating in May 2027.
• Previous internship or work experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Experience with safety management systems and software.
• First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
• Participate in incident investigations and help develop corrective actions.
• Support safety training programs and initiatives.
• Maintain safety records and documentation.
• Collaborate with various departments to promote safety awareness.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Safety team.
